The anxiety and uncertainty created by COVID-19 is felt most acutely by those on the front line. While public safety professionals are used to dealing with high pressure environments and individuals in crisis, the pandemic has introduced a whole new level of stress for those in the field and their families.
Dilnaz Garda and Dr. Vivien Lee of Canada Beyond the Blue will discuss how your stress can manifest and impact your behaviour, with a focus on practical advice to monitor and manage your mental health during the pandemic. Axon’s Senior Regional Manager, Stefan Schurman will moderate.
Topics will include:
* COVID-19’s impact on the mental health of you and your family
* Stress management techniques and available resources, such as the PZIZZ app to help with sleep
* Signs that “normal” stress may be escalating into depression, anxiety or PTSD
* When to seek help
Axon Canada recognizes the importance of self-care, especially during this pandemic, and wants to give back to the public safety community and their families. Axon, in partnership with Pzizz (the world's most advanced sleep and power nap system) will be providing no-charge licences for the PZIZZ (https://pzizz.com/) sleep app to webinar participants.
About Canada Beyond the Blue:
Canada Beyond the Blue (BTB) is a national non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening and supporting families of law enforcement officers by providing mental health tools and resources. Canada BTB and its Chapters are run by volunteers who are family members of law enforcement officers/civilian members and this vested interest drives their passion and dedication.
Pzizz was founded to bring great sleep to the world. Their apps use relaxing “dreamscapes” — a mix of music, voiceover and sound effects designed using the latest clinical research — to help you sleep better at night or take power naps during the day.
